GAMWIND Ltd. is a Gambian national company and was established in 2010 by two German Windpower Companies Windstrom Service SH and GeBePro and the Gambian generator service company Global Energy Ltd. in Tujereng.

The initiator of the first Wind power Company in The Gambia and also in the whole of West Africa is the German engineer and European pioneer of wind energy Peter Weissferdt who has installed the first 150kVA wind converter in Batokunku in the year 2009. Peter Weissferdt is also the official coordinator for DESERTEC Foundation in The Gambia.

The company´s goal is to develop install and operate renewable power energy systems in the Gambia to produce pollution free and cheap green electric energy out of wind and solar-thermo plants to the benefit of the countries people.
